Newell Ransom Fogg (1894-1970), Martin's maternal grandfather, was Edwin and Lena's 7th of 9 children.
Lena lived to be a few days short of her 100th birthday. Martin's mother knew her Grammie Lena Fogg before Lena died in 1953. Uncle Willis Fogg remembers the funeral procession from where she lived in Massachusetts to here where she is buried in Hampton.
Edwin was born in Hampton, New Hampshire, to Ransom Fogg and Margaret Clements Fogg. Edwin moved to East Boston, Massachusetts. Edwin was a motorman for the Boston subway system.
Lena Cook was born in St. John, Newfoundland, Canada to Richard Cook and Martha Diana Aylesbury Cook. Lena probably came to the Boston area as a child in 1864. In 1873, Lena married Walter S. Maines. They had 2 children. Frederick died at 1 year old in 1874. Mabel Maines Howard died at age 22 and she is buried here.
